Finding my allergies

for a while now I've had difficulty with stomach pains and cramping. I went to doctors on and off for a while and they found nothing. The pains started getting significantly worse. Doctors did cat scans, ultra sounds, x-rays, scopes and came up w/ little to nothing. They found a small forming ulcer and some lacerations that they could not explain but no real reason for the extreme stomach discomfort. My primary care doctor had previously done a blood allergy test that found nothing not even a life long allergy to milk that I have had.  I finally went to a Natural Path doctor who did a blood allergy test different then my other doctor that insurance would not cover and a digestive stool test. I  Found out that there was a few things I was not digesting such as proteins, fetal fats and a few other things and needed to start taking a medication that assisted w/ proper digestion. I also discovered I had a few more allergies then I realized. I was born with a dairy allergy that I've had my whole life. My allergy test confirmed that I was indeed allergic to milk as well as moderately allergic to eggs in any form as well as chicken (I'm a vegetarian). As well as mildly allergic to bakers and brewers yeast, mushrooms and string beans. As I read the booklet on my allergies that they gave me I found yeast was in more things then I new and that this would be more difficult then I thought. I've decided to start blogging the foods I've eaten while attempting to eat allergy free. the first few days I mainly at burritos and veggies but I don't have specifics I am starting with today's meals.

Breakfast:
a smoothie made from fresh strawberries, blueberries, spinach, ice, water and honey.
(the smoothie was good but I don't think I added enough sweet fruits or honey)
I also had a pear.

Snacks:
baby carrots
almonds and peanuts

Lunch:
Rice
black beans
avocado
spinach
tomatoes
a little bit of salt

Super:
veggie potato frozen melody dish. (asparagus, carrots and potatos)
a spinach tomato and cucumber salad w/ home made dressing
dressing was avocado and cucumber blended up w/ olive oil and sea salt
(it was a little extra thick and could have used a tiny bit more seasoning but not bad for a random attempt)

Thanks for reading my meals and following my journey :)

  1. Good luck with this, knowing you for a long time I've seen your struggle with dairy. I'll be interested to see what you nail down as other foods to stay away from.

    1. This is quiet a bit more difficult then just dairy. Starting to wish it was just dairy again. But learning to avoid foods as a kid helps some now.

  2. Michelle, how did you find a natural path doctor? I have had similar problems since high school and lots of joint swelling and stiffness. I have given up on Western medicine for an answer.

    1. I googled my natural path doctor and then when went to list of doctors covered under my insurance to find her name. I know a few friends who go to here so I gave it a try. I asked around a bit before officially settling on her. She was also very close to where I lived :-)
